Six things you can finish at the counter.

Not six things you can start. Each of these is completed at an agent location, through our partner banks and licensed providers, with the requirements published here so you arrive ready instead of being turned away.

What each one involves

What to expect, and what to bring.

Account opening is the service that most often stalls on a missing document. Publishing the requirements is the cheapest fix available to us. One trip instead of two.

01

Cash deposit

Put money into an account without travelling to a branch.

Hand cash to the agent, give the account number, and the deposit is posted through our partner bank. You get a confirmation before you leave the counter.

For agents

Deposits settle against the agent’s float. Agents see the balance move in real time and can raise a query from the counter if a posting does not confirm.

Bring with you
  • The account number you are paying into
  • The cash
  • A phone number for the confirmation
02

Cash withdrawal

Take money out where there is no ATM and no branch.

Withdraw against your account or card at the agent counter. The agent verifies you before any cash moves.

For agents

Withdrawal limits follow the partner bank’s agent banking rules. Agents are trained on the verification steps that protect both sides of the counter.

Bring with you
  • Your card or account details
  • A valid means of identification
  • Your phone for the confirmation
03

Account opening

Open a bank account at a counter in your own neighbourhood.

The agent captures your details and documents and submits the application to the partner bank. You are told what tier of account you qualify for and what it allows.

For agents

Account opening is the service that most often stalls on missing documents. The requirements are published here so customers arrive ready rather than being turned away.

Bring with you
  • A valid means of identification
  • Your BVN if you already have one
  • A passport photograph
  • A phone number in your own name
04

BVN registration

Get the identity number the rest of the financial system depends on.

Your biometrics and details are captured at the counter and submitted for enrolment. Without a BVN, most of the banking system stays closed to you, which is why this sits alongside account opening instead of behind it.

For agents

Biometric capture is the most equipment-dependent service on the counter. Locations offering it are equipped and monitored specifically for it.

Bring with you
  • A valid means of identification
  • Your date of birth as it appears on that identification
  • Your own phone number
05

NIN & SIM enrolment

Get registered for the identity documents everything else now asks for.

NIN enrolment, SIM registration and biometric capture are carried out at the counter and submitted to the relevant body. Equipment-dependent, so confirm your nearest location offers it before travelling.

For agents

Delivered under our partnerships with NIMC, NIBSS and related bodies. Like BVN capture, this is equipment-dependent. Only equipped and monitored counters are listed as offering it.

Bring with you
  • A valid means of identification
  • Your date of birth as it appears on that identification
  • Your own phone number
  • The SIM being registered, if applicable
06

Bill payment

Pay for electricity, airtime, data and subscriptions in one stop.

Pay the bill at the counter and take the confirmation with you. No app, no card, no data bundle needed.

For agents

Bill payment is the highest-frequency service on most counters and is usually what brings a customer through the door the first time.

Bring with you
  • The meter, account or phone number being paid
  • The cash

Not every counter offers all six

BVN registration, NIN enrolment and SIM registration all need biometric capture equipment, so the locations offering them are equipped and monitored specifically for it. Check before travelling. Ask us through the help channel, or look at the coverage map.

On charges

Charges follow the partner bank’s published agent banking tariff for the service being carried out. Agents are required to state the charge before the transaction. If one does not, tell us. That is a compliance matter, not a complaint.
What we no longer offer

E-Cash has been discontinued.

Lukeport no longer offers or operates E-Cash. Its services, agent messaging, application forms and agreements have been withdrawn, not renamed, and any document still circulating that references it is out of date. The six services listed on this page are what the network delivers today.
