LUKEPORT
Company

We build the half of banking that has to be physical.

Digital channels reached most of Nigeria years ago. What they did not reach is the moment cash has to change hands. For a large part of the country, that moment is still every transaction that matters.

Purpose

Distance is the barrier nobody could code away.

A bank branch is an expensive object. It needs premises, security, staff and enough transaction volume to justify all three, which is why branch networks stop at roughly the point where the economics stop, and why millions of people live an expensive journey away from the nearest one.

An agent is a different economic proposition entirely. The premises already exist, because they are a shop. The person already works there. The trust already exists, because the community has been buying from them for years. What is missing is the connection to the financial system, the training to use it correctly, and someone accountable when it fails.

That is the whole of what Lukeport does. We recruit, verify, train and deploy agents; we hold the licence position and the compliance obligations so the agent does not have to; and we run the operations that keep a counter trading after the launch photograph.

Financial inclusion stops being an abstraction the moment there is someone within walking distance who can take your cash.

Our foundation

Mission, vision and values.

Three statements the company holds itself to. They are printed here as Lukeport wrote them.

Mission

What drives us

To promote financial inclusion in Nigeria through an unwavering commitment to making transactions easy, accessible and secure for rural and urban communities.

Vision

Where we are going

To be Nigeria’s most trusted reference point in agent network services, delivering superior value through an integrated network of agents, aggregators and institutional partners.

Values

What we stand for

Integrity, innovation and customer-centricity. We partner only with the best, rely on technology, and back every transaction with second-level authentication.

Objectives

What we are building towards.

  1. 01

To build a sustainable financial support services structure that will drive the agency banking platform and its related services across the length and breadth of Nigeria and Africa.

  2. 02

Delivery and management of high-value propositions to our agents and aggregators through a highly effective integrated network.

  3. 03

Promote the agenda of financial inclusion in Nigeria through our commitment to making financial transactions easy for rural and urban areas.

Operating philosophy

Six values, each with a consequence.

These are carried over from the company's original statement of values. What is new is that each one now says what it actually commits us to. A value without a consequence is decoration.

Reliability

A counter that cannot serve a customer this morning is not coverage. We measure ourselves on locations that work, not locations that exist.

Professionalism

Agents are trained, monitored and held to a documented standard. The standard is ours to enforce, not the agent’s to invent.

Affordability

Financial access that costs a day’s wage to reach is not access. Distance, fees and friction are all part of the same price.

Accessibility

Built for the customer without a smartphone, without a data bundle and without a branch, because that is most of the market we serve.

Innovation

Applied where it removes friction for an agent or a customer, and nowhere else. Technology that adds a step is not progress.

Inclusion

The point of the network, not a by-product of it. Every counter is judged on whether it brings someone into the financial system who was outside it yesterday.

Impact

What the network adds up to.

Every figure here is totalled from the same hub records that draw the coverage map, so no two pages can quote different numbers.

How these figures are produced

Coverage numbers are not typed into a page. They are summed from the hub records behind the coverage map, so a correction in one place lands everywhere and no two pages can quote different totals. The state-by-state split is an estimate against Lukeport’s published network total and is awaiting their verified distribution.
Become an agent

Open your counter. We handle the rest.

Applying takes four short steps: your details, your location, your ID, and your bank. You will know what happens next at every stage, and nothing needs to be printed.
